Our Privacy Promise

Supported workflows process document bytes in your browser without uploading them to LocalPDF for processing. Network requests for application resources and consented analytics remain separate from document processing.

LocalPDF uses browser JavaScript, WebAssembly, and self-hosted workers for its supported PDF operations. Review each tool's capability limits and the published verification method before selecting a document.

Information We Collect

Data Excluded from LocalPDF Analytics

  • Document bytes, filenames, or user file paths
  • OCR text, PDF contents, images, or metadata
  • Passwords, signatures, or annotations
  • Raw processing errors, output sizes, or page counts

What We May Collect

  • Usage Analytics: Anonymous information about which tools you use and how you navigate our site (via Google Analytics or similar services)
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen size for optimizing our service
  • IP Address: May be collected by our hosting provider for security and analytics purposes

How Your Files Are Processed

  1. You select a file from your device
  2. The file is loaded into your browser's memory (RAM)
  3. The supported operation runs in the current browser tab
  4. The result is downloaded directly to your device
  5. No document bytes are sent to a LocalPDF processing API

This boundary reduces processing-server exposure. It does not secure your device, browser extensions, downloaded files, storage, or later sharing.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function properly

Since we don't store your PDF files, there is no document data to access or delete. For analytics data, you can opt out using the cookie consent banner.

Data Security

Our website is served over HTTPS, ensuring that your connection to our site is encrypted. However, the best security feature is our architecture: supported workflows do not upload document bytes to LocalPDF for processing. This avoids that processing-server exposure but does not remove device, browser, storage, or sharing risks.
